About Me:
I'm a qualified Resource Economist that's been trading for over 10 years. I've worked for one of Australia's leading brokerage firms, as well as a full-time day trader. I now work in the oil and gas sector here in WA.

About the Course:
I provide an introductory course for those looking at entering the stockmarket for the first time or those looking to improve their trading performance. I use a combination of charting, fundamental analysis & momentum trading techniques. The course focuses on the resources sector.

Course Outline:
- introduction to trading
- the 'big picture'
- market sentiment
- reading & interpreting charts
- identifying 'hot' stocks (momentum trading) & stocks to avoid
- the rules of trading.
- trade entry and exit points (stop losses and price targets)
- managing your portfolio to minimise risk
- the basics of fundamental analysis; how to value a stock
- finding (free) quality information (& what type of information to avoid!).
- Portfolio management; tracking & measuring your progress

Additionally, will reccomend the best online brokerage services & how to get the most from them.

Venue: a cafe in South Perth.

Why: You don't need to be an economist or financial guru to succeed as a trader. Discipline and general knowledge are more important qualities to possess. Once you understand the basics and adhere to the rules of trading there's no reason why you shouldn't be successful. Trading can provide an excellent secondary source of income. As for the resources boom I believe it will continue for years to come.
